After a few years under the RCA Records branch of Sony Music Nashville, Josh Thompson
is going his own way. The singer was originally signed to the Columbia
imprint and released his debut Top 10 album ‘Way Out Here’ in 2010. The
album produced three Top 30 singles, including the title track that
peaked at No. 15, as well as ‘Beer on the Table’ (No. 17) and ‘Won’t Be
Lonely Long’ (No. 25).
After the label experienced some changes, Thompson was bumped over to
the RCA Records side of things, where he had been gearing up for the
release of his highly-anticipated sophomore album, ‘Change.’ The album’s
lead single, ‘Comin’ Around,’ had been a Top 30 hit for the singer in
recent weeks, just before the plug was pulled on it at radio, leading up
to the news of him leaving the label roster.
Josh Thompson Signs Deal With Show Dog-Universal
Thompson joins existing Show Dog-Universal roster including Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, JT Hodges, Jessie James, and Rose Falcon.
Thompson was previously signed to Columbia records where he released his debut album, Way Out Here, in 2009. The record produced three singles, “Beer on the Table,” “Way Out Here,” “Won’t Be Lonely Long.” Thompson, along with label mate Miranda Lambert transitioned to RCA records when the Columbia imprint restructured in 2011. He most recently released a single to radio titled, “Comin’ Around.”
